Our Mission
Cincinnati LAB Theatre is a developmental theatre company. We are playwright-centric, helping playwrights develop their new works through a collaborative, creative workshop process that includes the playwright, the director, and the actors. We are committed to the development of new works while providing a solid platform for artists to cultivate, strengthen, and hone their artistic crafts and talents. By using local theatre artists, we are able to produce new plays each year and offer quality theatre to Cincinnati audiences.
Our Current Experiment!
Cincinnati LAB Theatre is now planning its thirteenth producing season and has opened submissions for its 2026 New Works Festival. We are accepting submissions for three (3) fully staged workshop productions, and two (2) staged readings. These plays will be produced over two weekends in a rotating festival format in July of 2026.
Submissions for our summer festival productions will be accepted now through December 31, 2025. There is a $5 submission fee that covers the cost to pay readers.
